This free seed library serves the community of Fairdale as a place to store and share seeds with local gardeners.
A seed library is a shared community resource that helps highlight the value of locally adapted seeds. This helps low-income, first-time growers, and community-based gardeners.
We accept seeds for fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. When saving seeds, select seeds from the most vigorous plants. Ensure seeds are clean and dry before donating. Please no hybrid plants, they may not produce true to type. Heirloom seeds are preferred (they produce consistent results).
Native seeds are welcome and preferred, invasive species will not be accepted.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes! The seed library is free. A seed library allows everyone access to local seeds adapted to our area.
We accept seeds from fruits, flowers, herbs, and vegetables. Seeds must be properly labeled with a seed donation form. We can only accept open-pollinated and heirloom seeds. Commercially packaged seeds may be donated. Seed mixes must be labeled as such.
The Seed Library is located at The Floral Grind Florist & Coffeehouse. You may donate or receive seeds at this location.
